PRACTICAL PRE-SURGERY PREPARATION TO HELP YOU FEEL CALMER AND MORE PREPARED.

Reduce Anxiety Before Surgery

Peace for Health offers calm, nervous-system-aware preparation for people facing surgery or significant medical procedures. It includes two complementary options: a self-paced pre-surgery support programme, and a personalised one-to-one relaxation service.

Both focus on reducing background stress in the body and supporting a steadier physiological state as you approach surgery, helping to ease the overall strain on your system during a demanding time.

What is Peace for Health?

eace for Health complements medical care and offers relaxation-based preparation before surgery. Research suggests that reducing stress beforehand can help quiet the body’s stress response and support a steadier physiological state going into anaesthetic and early recovery.

You can choose between two options, depending on how much structure or personalisation you’d find helpful.

Option 1 – Peaceful Preparation for Surgery

This is a structured, self-paced online programme designed to help you prepare emotionally, practically, and physically as you approach surgery.

It recognises that preparing for surgery isn’t just about waiting for a date to arrive — it can affect many areas of life, from practical arrangements to emotional responses and a sense of uncertainty in the background. By gently acknowledging these different aspects, rather than pushing them aside, the programme helps reduce background stress that can otherwise build up over time.

The programme combines guided relaxation audios, written reflection prompts, and practical preparation check-ins. The emphasis is on reducing stress in the body and supporting nervous-system regulation, so your system is under less strain as surgery approaches and recovery begins.

The programme isn’t about positive thinking or avoiding difficult issues. It offers a framework you can return to as often as you like, at your own pace, to help you gradually build a stronger sense of calm.

What’s included:

• Two guided relaxation audios
• Written reflection and journalling prompts
• Practical preparation checklists
• A clear, self-paced structure you can revisit as needed

Price: £60

Optional mentoring sessions are available if you would like guidance on how to use the programme materials or adapt them to your circumstances.

Option 2 – Personalised Pre-Surgery Support

This option offers fully personalised pre-surgery relaxation support through a bespoke guided relaxation recording, created specifically for you.

Following a one-to-one consultation, your recording is written and recorded to reflect your situation, preferences, and the themes that you feel would be most supportive for you. The recording is designed to help your body access a relaxation response more easily, allowing familiarity and ease to build in the lead-up to surgery.

What’s included:

• A short getting-to-know-you form
• One 60-minute online consultation
• A bespoke guided relaxation audio, written and recorded specifically for you
• Clear guidance on how and when to use the recording
• One optional 30-minute follow-up call arranged (around one week after delivery) if needed to review any practical issues

Price: £165

Sessions are offered during UK daytime and early-evening hours, which often works well for Europe, South Africa, and US East Coast clients.

Why Relaxation Before Surgery Matters

It’s completely natural to feel anxious before surgery — whether because of health concerns, uncertainty, or fear of the procedure itself. When stress levels are high, the nervous system can remain in a state of alertness, which can feel exhausting and overwhelming.

Peace for Health supports preparation in two ways. Through guided relaxation, you give your body repeated opportunities to settle and rest, helping to calm the nervous system and reduce background stress. Alongside this, the self-paced programme also includes reflective units that help you think through the practical and life-related aspects of having surgery — such as planning, responsibilities, and change. Taking time to address these areas can ease mental load and help you feel more prepared.

Together, this supports a steadier approach to surgery, both physically and mentally.

A Personal, Careful Approach

I created Peace for Health after using this relaxation-based approach myself while preparing for major surgery. Having a structured way to calm my nervous system — alongside space to think things through — shaped how this programme was designed.

Peace for Health brings this together in a clear, well-boundaried way. The self-paced programme combines relaxation with reflective preparation. The personalised one-to-one option offers a tailored relaxation audio only, focused on nervous system settling. Both are designed to complement medical care, not replace it.

Peace For Health FAQs

How soon before surgery should I start?

Ideally, you’ll begin using the programme or your personalised relaxation recording in the weeks leading up to surgery. However, both options can still be helpful even if time is short, including in the days just before your procedure.

Can I continue using the relaxation audios after surgery?

Yes. Whether you’re using the self-paced programme or a personalised recording, many people find relaxation supportive during recovery as well.

Is this suitable for all types of surgery?

Peace for Health is designed to support people preparing for surgery and medical procedures. If you have any concerns or specific conditions, it’s sensible to check with your medical practitioner before using the programme or booking a one-to-one consultation.
